At Caffe Vignette in Bonaire, a specialty coffee house, we create unique coffee blends for you to enjoy either in our cafe or your own home. It can be difficult to decide what kind of method to use when creating coffee at home. Here is a guide to help you figure out whether you should make a french press, Keurig, or pour-over so you can have the best coffee each morning when you wake up! French Press

The french press has been making bold cups of coffee since the early 1800’s. This method lets ground coffee ruminate in hot water for about four minutes in order to transfer all of the flavors from the beans into the water. Using a plunger-like object to separate the ground coffee from the water, the french press, while it takes some time, creates rich and flavorful cups of coffee.

Keurig

The Keurig is the simplest form of coffee production on the market and the quickest method for making a cup of coffee in the morning. Using premade pods and a pressurized water system, it creates a decent cup of coffee in about a minute. While this may not be the most flavorful cup, it is the most efficient.

Pour-Over

The pour-over is a perfect combination between efficiency and flavor. The pour-over is known for creating a clean cup of coffee with brighter flavors. We will often use both the pour-over and french press in our coffee shop depending on the preferences of the customer!

Which One Should You Choose?

Whichever method you choose depends on your preferences. If you are looking for a quick cup of coffee on your way out the door, the Keurig is the way to go. If you have a little more time on your hands, the french press and pour-over are great options to create a cup of coffee using specialty beans from your local coffee shop. If you prefer a bolder cup of coffee, the french press is the way to go. For a cleaner, brighter cup, go with the pour-over!
